Set to a selection of classic songs the episodes will intercut in-depth interviews featuring legendary artists including the late Teddy Pendergrass, Billy Joel, and members of the Soul Survivors, the O’Jays, the Spinners, and Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes with commentary and recollections from a “Who’s Who” of present-day musical stars and cultural figures. Musicians from all cultures and backgrounds made the Philly sound make their mark.
